Kennady Janae Hoyt

On Monday, March 22, 2010, Cam and I arrived at the hospital at ten o'clock for our scheduled c-section. They hooked me up to the IV and we anxiously awaited the noon hour. At about 12:30, they said the Dr was on her way, so they took me into the operating room and had Cam wait outside. They gave me the spinal so I couldn't feel anything, and then brought Cam in when they were about ready. At 1:03, our precious baby girl was born. She cried immediately, which I was so grateful for! They showed her to me for a quick second, then took her over to weigh and clean her off. The stats were: 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and 20 inches long. After sewing me back up, we went into recovery and they brought my mom and Hudson back. Hudson was so happy to see her and just kept saying "baby, baby." They brought us back into our huge, nice room, and there we stayed until Wednesday, when we came home. It's so nice to be home as a family! I feel so extremely blessed to be a mother of two beautiful children. I love the sweet spirit that they bring into our home. Kennady has been so wonderful so far. I've had to wake her up most of the time to eat, and then she goes right back to sleep. She doesn't really cry at all, but I'm sure that will change! Thanks to everyone for your support, love, and prayers in our behalf. We love you all!

Here are a lot of pictures from our first 3 days with beautiful Kennady! I know it's a lot, but there are so many to choose from!

The Final Countdown!

This week has been countdown week for me. Counting down the days until Kennady will be here, till my mom will be here, and until it will no longer be just the 3 of us. Depending on the moment, I have had such mixed emotions about all of this. Of course we are SO excited to have another baby, but it's been really hard to keep my fears from getting the best of me. Will she be healthy? How will Hudson do? Will he know we still love him just as much? Will I be able to give all I need to two children and my husband? I'm sure these are pretty normal feelings for anyone in my situation, or at least that's what I keep telling myself! I'm looking forward to Monday especially because I know once I have her in my arms, I won't care about anything else!

Knowing I won't be up to doing things for a while, I tried to do something fun and outside of the house every day with Hudson. I was really bad at taking pictures, but I have to say that we've had a great week so far. Nothing too special, but just time together making memories.

Here is Hudson in his St Patty's shirt. I love him in green!

His favorite spot, looking out the window.

Everyone asks me if Hudson gets that I'm having a baby. He gets that something is in my tummy, but for sure doesn't understand the gravity of the situation. I think he'll be great with her though. Today at the Dr he got really concerned when the nurse pulled my shirt up to hear the baby's heartbeat, but as soon as he heard it and I told him what it was, his face lit up with the biggest smile!

Giving sister kisses. He also gives her knuckles, which I think is adorable! He's always really soft.

Tonight we went down to the beach to watch the sunset after Cam got home from work. It was a really pretty night and Hudson had a great time as usual. It's amazing to me the peace I always feel when my feet hit the sand. I can't help but feel Heavenly Father's love when I am in this beautiful place watching the people I love have fun.

Hudson chasing his ball. He even put his feet in the water tonight, which was a big step!

My favorite pic of the night. LOVE IT!!!

GRANDMA COMES TOMORROW!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!

Valentine's Day Visitors!

We were so excited to have visitors this past weekend. Our friends Justin, Stephanie, and Clayton came from LC to stay a few nights with us, and we had a wonderful time! We did a lot of shopping, talking, eating, and playing. We also took the Mechams down to the ocean on Valentine's Day, so of course here are some more beach pictures!

Our great friends. Thanks for the fun weekend!

We love you Hudson!

Hudson loves playing with Daddy at the beach. He cries every time we leave.

Me and my other Valentine

Stephanie caught a sweet moment

A perfect night

Yes, I am huge! Can I really make it another 4 1/2 weeks?! The countdown has already begun!

Ahhhhhhh...........

We've been saying this a lot lately, but can you blame us? First of all I just have to say how nice it is to have my husband back! I don't think Cam or I realized how hard things really were until we came here. This move has literally been a much needed fresh breath of air. It's been so nice to finally have some time together as a family and as a couple. We were even able to spend the entire weekend together! (We honestly couldn't remember the last time this had happened.) Living only 5-10 min from the ocean, one of my favorite things has been taking walks along the beach. A perfect way to end the day!

Hudson is a little afraid of the water, but loves being able to just run!

Can't he just stay little?

I love my sweet boy!

Playing in the sand with Daddy.

All dirty!

I need to learn how to take good sunset pics!

On another happy note, I went and met my new Dr this week, and our little girl should be making her debut in only 7 weeks! We can't wait to have some visitors once she's here!

Best Surprise Ever!

It helped me a lot to get through Christmas knowing that only a few days after Hudson and I were going home to surprise my sister. Cam left the same day as us to go do some training in South Carolina and it was nice to have a break from packing. We had such a great time the week we were there. Hudson was sick with a really bad fever almost the entire time, but I think the extra cuddling was enjoyed by everyone. Here are some highlights:

We got there on Sunday and were waiting for my sister up in her room when she got home from church. Her husband told her he needed her upstairs, and this is what she did when she saw us! I thought for sure she would scream, but instead the waterworks started! So perfect!

This picture has a funny story behind it and represents all of the eating we did while we were there. This banana split was supposed to be for my dad, but quickly turned into Marlie feeding Hudson instead. This boy loves ice cream!

Tim and Kim came up for New Year's Eve. We had so much fun playing games and making lots of noise when the clock struck 12! Addie and Drew stayed up till 1 I think. We are party animals!

My mom and dad with their grandchildren. Aren't they all so cute!?

Hudson had his first, although short, encounter with snow!

We got to see Cam's family too. His sister Ashley went through the temple while I was there and it was so nice to be in the temple with lots of family. I am terrible with getting out the camera at their house, but here is Hudson with Grandma.

We also got to catch up with three of my best friends! I just love these girls! Here we are with Auntie Erika. Hudson loves her!

I hadn't seen Jason and Claudia since Hudson was just a month old. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see their kids because we didn't want Hudson to infect them. (Look at that poor kid!)

We finally got to meet Carter, Jenn and Boonie's adorable boy! Thanks for coming over to see us Jenn!

Christmas 2009

I am finally trying to get a little caught up with my blog. I will at least get us through last year today!

We had a really good Christmas this year. If I could describe it in one word, it would be simple. To me, that is the way to do it! We didn't really worry about gifts, knowing that we have so much already and that Hudson still doesn't really know or care much about Christmas. (Also knowing that whatever we bought we would have to move was a good incentive to not go crazy!) We spent time together as much as Cam's work permitted and also our wonderful friends in LC. We missed spending another holiday with our families, but I am learning more and more to just make the best out of each situation, especially for Hudson.

Hudson didn't want a pic with me, so I took one with Kennady :) (27 weeks)
