Happy Halloween!

Last night was our ward Trunk-or-Treat. It was perfect weather- actually a little warm for Hudson in his fleece outfit! We thought he looked so cute as a fireman. After that, we came home and carved our pumpkins. We are definitely amateurs, but they turned out pretty good. Hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!

Feliz Coupleanos!!!

Today is Cam's Birthday!! Unfortunately he is at work, but Hudson and I are going to go see him later on and bring him a birthday treat! I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the love of my life and let him know how amazing he is! Here are a few of my favorite things about Cam:
  • He is a great provider. He works so hard and I know that he will always take care of us. This also makes me feel safe.

  • He is extremely selfless. He is constantly doing things to help others and is always the first to volunteer. He is a great example to me of how to serve with a smile.

  • He loves being a dad. Cam has been working more than 60 hours a week, but the first thing he does when he comes home is go for his little boy. (After giving me a kiss!) He gives Hudson a bath and plays with him as much as he can before bedtime, which gives me a second for myself. Hudson loves him so much!

  • He is a peacemaker. Cam does not like contention! When there is a problem, he likes to talk about it and make it better. He has taught me how to communicate better.
I could seriously go on and on about what a great man my man is! I mostly want to let him know how much I love him and how grateful I am that he chose me! Hudson and I are so blessed! Happy birthday babe!

Right after this, Hudson put his hand in the cake! My memory card was full. Dang!

Our Li'l Punkin!

This afternoon Cam, Hudson, and I went to a local pumpkin patch. It was so cute! There was a lot of fun stuff to look at as we searched for the perfect pumpkins! Considering we woke him up to get some pics, (I know, we are terrible parents!) he had a great time. I love doing stuff like this. We could've gone to Walmart and bought pumpkins, but like I told Cam, "It's all about the experience!" One day my kids will either love me or hate me for doing stuff like this! :)

And this one is for Grandpa Hoyt!

It got cold, so we had to bundle up the little guy!

He's a Hoyt!

We took Hudson to his 4 month Dr. appointment this week. We were all trying to guess how much he was going to weigh. Are you ready? Here are the stats: 18 pounds (90-97th percentile) and 26.5 inches (90th percentile). Wow! Cam and I decided he is going to be a big, strong boy like his grandpa Hoyt! I have to remind myself that he is still only 4 months old because he is so big! We love him to pieces and are just thankful that he is strong and healthy. The Dr. told us he is "perfect". What else could parents wish for?

It is so sad to have him get shots, but he did really well. He got a little fever later on that night, but even when he didn't feel well, he was smiling.

He is really starting to grab things and guess where they go? Yep, the mouth!

Do they have to leave?

My mom, sis KB, and her little girl Marlie have been here since Tuesday. We have done so much it's been crazy but a ton of fun! On Wednesday we did some shopping for the little kiddies and I got Hudson a new winter wardrobe! Thursday was Cam's day off and we went downtown to the arch and some other things. It was my first time to go up in the arch and see the amazing view. It was a great day. Then for the past two days we have been visiting Nauvoo and Carthage Jail. It was so beautiful with the changing leaves and fall weather. (We heard it snowed in Utah today. I don't miss that!) Anyways, we have a ton of pictures from all of this, but I will just share a few of my favorites. I am so grateful that my family was able to come for a visit and appreciate everyone's efforts so they could come. Hudson had a great time seeing his grandma, aunt, and cousin again. We love them so much!

One Year Older and Wiser Too.....

Well, I at least hope I am wiser! :) I have to say thanks to my sweet husband for an amazing day yesterday! I am so spoiled! He made sure he had the day off, which was the best present ever, so I got to spend the entire day with my two loves! We woke up, Cam made me waffles (my favorite!) and then packed us a lunch before we headed to the St. Louis Zoo. We hadn't been there yet and it was the perfect fall day to go. So we had a little picnic in the park and then walked around the Zoo and showed Hudson the animals. It is a really good Zoo, not to mention that it is free! We had a great time and are looking forward to going again sometime. After that, we went to the mall and I got to pick out some presents and then we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Yummy! It was one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Thanks Cam for the amazing day and to everyone else for your calls, texts, and emails!
