Hudson is 4!?

It's still hard to believe that I have a 4 year old. I have such mixed emotions about my children growing up. It's fun to see them grow and learn, but 4 just seems so old! I really miss the chubby cheeks and hands. We closed on our house the day before Hudson's birthday, so his day was not what I would normally have planned for a birthday, but we had to get things packed and ready to go! My parents were already over helping us, and I asked my sister and her kids to come over so we could at least take the kids to the park for a while and play. Hudson kept saying he wanted a red cake, so luckily they had Spider Man cupcakes that were red at the store. We took a break from packing to go play, eat cupcakes, and then drove some stuff down to our new house so Cam and I could give Hudson his present together. All he kept asking for was a red bike. He was really excited about it!

After church on Sunday we went to my parent's house for dinner and to have a little family party for Hudson. He loves lemon squares, which he calls yellow squares, so I made him a pan of them instead of a cake. We went for a nice ride/walk with the kids and they had a blast playing with their cousins, as usual.

So excited that they gave him a fishing pole!

Cam and I took the kids to dinner after Hudson's little celebration and then up to see the temple and decided to take some pictures. It was not very successful as far as the photos I took (my lens was on manual focus and I didn't know until after) but we still had a good time. These two are so funny and make me smile every day!

Way to go Hudson!

I'm finally trying to get caught back up on the blog, so let's go back to the end of May. Hudson finished his first year of preschool and they had a cute graduation ceremony for them. It was so funny to see these little kids in their cap and gowns. I'm so proud of Hudson and how much he's grown this year. I'm a little sad he will have new teachers this year, but I know he will continue to do great. He's growing up so fast!

Disneyland!

We were going to head home on Monday and stay the night in Vegas, but then my mom had a great idea to take the kids to Disneyland on Monday and drive straight home on Tuesday. I was pretty hesitant to take Kennady and felt bad going without Cam, but knowing how much Hudson would love it I couldn't say no. My sister and her family were going for 3 days, so spending their first day with them was perfect. The kids had so much fun riding rides together and we were all able to help each other out. It was the perfect time and we practically walked onto everything! Both Hudson and Kennady LOVED it!!! Their enthusiasm was so adorable and I had to keep fighting back tears because they were so cute. Kennady did much better than I anticipated and even took a nap in her stroller for a bit. Hudson is still talking about it and keeps telling Cam he needs to go with us.

We're here!

Dumbo

Merry-Go-Round

Teacups

It's a Small World

Mickey!!! For his souvenir, Hudson chose this stuffed Mickey and now has to take it everywhere!

Kenna ran right up and gave Mickey a huge hug. It was so cute!

The Rockets! It was so funny watching my mom on this ride! She was scared!

Hudson and Marlie taking a rest. These two have so much fun together!

Love my kids!

Kenna heard some music and just started dancing. Everyone was stopping to watch her and we were all just cracking up!

Watching the parade. This was probably my favorite part of the day.

Kenna waved to everyone. It was so cute! Both of my kids kept getting waves and kisses from the characters.

We rode on a lot more rides, and Hudson's favorites I don't even have pictures of. They were the Buzz Lightyear ride and Finding Nemo. By the time we got to dinner, we were all exhausted. Hudson told me he was tired, laid down on my lap, and was out for the night.

This was such a fun trip! We made so many great memories and can't wait to take Cam back with us next time. Disneyland really is the happiest place on earth!

A Litte Escape

Before I go on about our little trip, I've got to say that I could sure use an escape after this week! (Don't read if you have a sensitive stomach!) Kennady got sick a week ago, threw up for 3 days, then just when she started to feel better I woke up sick one morning. It was the first time I've thrown up while I've been pregnant. Go figure! Then the next morning Cam and I get a lovely surprise in bed when Hudson came into our room, got into our bed, and puked everywhere. Nice. By this time I was ready to throw in the towel! Oh and don't worry, that happened one more time, too. All I can say is I am so glad I have a good washer! Luckily I think we're all on the upside now.

So, back to the middle of April.......When my mom told me that she and my dad were going to California to watch my brother in a race I knew we had to go! I figured Cam wouldn't be able to take time off work (and I was right) but my parents assured me that they didn't mind me and the kids tagging along. So we took off and drove the 12 hours to my grandpa's house. The kids did so great! We stayed at Poppa Charlie's house and had a blast! The kids love he and Shirley, his wife. It was so fun to see them interact with each other.

On Saturday we went to see Marlon race. Hudson thought it was so neat watching a real race and wanted to go down on the track himself. He didn't get the qualifying time he needed that day, but has since done it! so excited for him and hope he makes it to the Olympics!

After the race we went to my Uncle Val's house and had a wonderful lunch with everyone who came to support Marlon. We then headed down to the beach. It was very overcast, but we were still happy to see the ocean and had a fun dinner for Marlon's birthday. It was such a fun day!
