Kennady- 18 Months

I guess you can say that I don't have a baby anymore. Kennady is so much fun! She and Hudson have been playing so well together lately and she says his name now: "Udsie!" Kennady weighs 23.7 pounds, which is a little small for her age, and her height is average. She's so small to me since Hudson has always been a big kid! Kennady is a wonderful eater, loves to be outside, and is quite the little dancer when music comes on. I'm so thankful for her and the joy she brings to my life every day.

Preschool!

Hudson started preschool on September 6th and is loving it! He was/is by far most excited about his new cars "pack pack". He started being a little anxious this week, but does great once he gets in. He's never been afraid or sad to leave me before, so I really hope it's just a phase. My little guy is getting so big and I am so excited for him to learn new things!

I was really sick on his first day, so Cam stayed home from work. It was nice that he got to share in the moment, too!

I thought he would be scared on the first day, but he and Krew just walked right in!

Shirley Family Vacation 2011

This year we headed to Lake Tahoe for our family trip with my family. Lake Tahoe is one of the prettiest lakes I have ever seen! The water is so crystal clear and blue. This was our second time here together, but I think the most fun! This was the longest trip Cam and I had ever taken together, and we still didn't want to go home.

We all had so much fun playing in the water and sand, jumping off the rocks, and on the paddle boards. The kids all loved playing with their cousins and really became close.

We were so lucky to have my grandparents, my mom's two brothers, their wives, and a few of my cousins come join in our fun. It had been a long time since we'd seen each other and we had a blast catching up. I wish we could all see each other more!

The kids all love their Papa! Poor Hudson has had major cousin with drawls when we got home.

My cousin Geoff lives on his sailboat near San Francisco. We decided to take the 3.5 hour trek there one day to see him and the sites. It was a long day of driving and quick site seeing, but I am so glad we went.

Most of July

I can't believe July is almost over! It's been a crazy month! Cam and I both love the 4th of July. We had an extremely fun-filled weekend with friends and family this year. Let's recap:

We kicked off the celebrations by meeting some friends at a park and catching up. No pictures though. :( Then we met up with some other friends at the Logan fireworks, which never disappoint! To say that Hudson loved the show is a huge understatement. He kept saying "faster, higher, more!"

We then headed to Lava to do some camping. We have been able to go a few times already this summer with our good friends the Stevens. I'm not a huge fan of camping, but it's great to see how fun the kids have. Kennady especially loved getting all dirty and eating anything that was in the dirt.

We went on a really pretty walk on Sunday up near where we were.

The weekend wasn't over yet though! On Monday we went up to the Hoyt's to have a yummy dutch oven dinner. I was trying to take some pictures of my kids, but they are both so hard to photograph right now! I hope this stage ends really soon!

I feel like I haven't updated very much about the kiddos lately, so I'll just go ahead and make this an even longer post! This first picture of Kennady reminded me of her ultrasound pic in my tummy. This little lady has grown right up! We call her our "Miss Sassy Pants" because she sure does have an attitude! She is so fun though, and is even starting to say some words.

Hudson is having a blast this summer! He loves swimming and playing outside. He definitely keeps us on our toes. He has been going to school to help him with his speech 3 times a week, and is improving greatly. He loves school and is very sociable. Hudson is so enthusiastic and happy. I wish I had half of his energy!

We've also been to Bear Lake a a few times, which I will have to post pictures of later, and are in Lake Tahoe this week with my family. We are having a blast!

Finally!!!

We are SO thrilled that Summer has decided to arrive in Utah! It was a long, hard winter for sure. We've had a lot of fun so far and hope to cram as much in as possible for the next few months.

Hudson and Krew took swimming lessons and had a blast!

We've also been trying to make a weekly trip to the Logan pool. I am so glad that both of my kids love the water!

The wedding!

Cam's little sister Chelsey got married on June 17th. It was so fun to have all of the family together (minus baby sister Ashley who is on her mission.) We are so happy for Doug and Chelsey!
